Introduction

The Farm

Jakes Flat Farm sits on 31 acres in the foothills of North Carolina.  It is home to John and Liz,  a variety of horses, cats, dogs and wildlife.

John

John is a retired educator. He has worked in the transportation industry most of his adult life as a professional driver.  John has driven millions of miles in 48 states hauling LTL and dedicated freight.  Currently he owns his own 359 Peterbilt and hauls hay, feed, farm equipment, and transports horses.

Liz

Liz is a licensed mental health professional and professional educator.  Currently she works with small children as a school counselor in an elementary school.  She has also operated her own private practice, serving children, adolescents, and people with disabilities using equine assisted psychotherapy and therapeutic riding at Jakes Flat Farm.  Liz is also an artist, working in acrylic paint on canvas, mixed media, epoxy, alcohol ink, fiber art, and traditional leather carving.  As a lifelong equestrian, and horse person, Liz has owned and ridden horses most of her life,

While Liz has actively pursued a healthy lifestyle and promoted the health and wellbeing of her horses, she has recently become interested specifically in skincare.  Aligning herself with Dynamite Equine and Specialty products, as well as becoming a Beauty Influencer with Farmasi has allowed her to access and share top quality products and strategies not only for herself and her horses but with others,
